Seoul is a major city with many options in terms of hotels and Airbnbs. There are so many neighborhoods to check out with each having its own vibe and culture.
Getting There
Flying
Fly into Incheon International Airport in Seoul.
Incheon Airport has some of the best airport shuttle services to and from the airport for less than $12. The shuttles will drop you off within walking distance to most major hotels. Tickets can be purchased at kiosks that can be found throughout the airport after going through immigration.
Getting a cab or uber to and from the hotel is also an option.
Where to Stay
Hotels & AirBnbs
We recommend staying at a hotel or AirBnb that is north of the Han River to more easily navigate the city and traffic over the weekend.
For our friends coming from out of town Myeongdong is centrally located, foreigner friendly, and closer to the venue with hundreds of hotel options.
Navigating Seoul
Getting Around
Subways: Seoul has one of the best public transit systems in the world. All you need is the T-Money app or a physical T-Money card. The card can be purchased at any convenience store and loaded with cash at the kiosks in the subway station. The app will allow you to add electronic payment as a foreigner and will add the T-Money card to your Apple wallet.
Taxi/Uber: For taxi services, we recommend that you download the Kakao T app which allows you to sign up with a foreign credit card. Kakao T will be the most economical option. While Uber exists, it comes at an additional cost.
Map App: Google Maps only works well in Korea for public transportation. We recommend that you download the Kakao Map or Naver Map apps to navigate the city.
